Belly Button Monster was born when Konsta Klemetti was playing with his son Henrik a tickling play and thought that it could be a Belly Button Monster coming to look for something to eat. These silly games were reminisced many a nights by the bedside while telling stories. Henrik’s imagination galloped like a wacky rabbit on a field.
Out of these mutual storytelling moments soared adventures, where a tiny and curious, belly button fluff-devouring Belly Button Monster bumps into perplexing phenomena and encounters enlightening creatures - whether neighbors or from afar. At the same time Belly Button Monster learns important lessons about friendship, tolerance and taking pictures!

Author
Konsta Klemetti is a writer-producer from Helsinki and the proud daddysaurus of two hilarious boys. As an all-around cultural industry worker he's been involved in music exports, making games, animations and created advertising as well as written a book about Finland's top game designers. It's a bit tough for him to pinpoint his favourite ice-cream but it's probably pistachio or stracciatella.
Eliza Jäppinen
Illustrator
Eliza is a mother of two wonderful children from Helsinki. She’s worked over 16 years creating animations, games and illustrations. Eliza is one of the founders of the animation studio Anima Boutique, she’s directed several commercials and music videos, such as “Juna Rovaniemelle” by the popular animated duo Ella ja Aleksi, and all the weirdly fantastic Studio Killers videos. Her works have been exhibited at the Helsinki City Museum of Art, Pictoplasma and Juxtapoze blog. Her favourite ice cream flavor is New York Super Fudge.

Henrik Klemetti is a student whose hobbies include growing up and computer programming. His favourite ice cream flavor is lemon sorbet.
Karri “Paleface” Miettinen
Karri ”Paleface” Miettinen is a groundbreaking rap artist and a writer from Helsinki. Along with lyrics, this verbal acrobat has exercised his writing muscles with projects for theater, musical and school opera. The father of two has also translated poetry into Finnish language and fiction novels. Karri’s favourite ice cream is vegan chocolate.

The tiny Belly Button Monster living in the monster village loves fluff and most of his days are spent chasing it, developing splendid fluff recipes - and of course organizing photos he has taken during his trips.
Perma-grumpy Grumpenstein is Belly Button Monster’s neighbor but not the most talkative kind. Under this sulking creature’s thick skin beats a kind heart.
Sourpuss is so hot-tempered that he lives in a brown bag and hides his anger inside. He peeps through the holes he has punched in the bag and does annoying mischief. He’s energized when others feel bad.
Mr. Eaterling
Dizzyingly tall Mr. Eaterling mainly eats all the time. Despite his grand size, he is considerate and always ready to help others.
Mrs. Eaterling
Charming Mrs. Eaterling also eats constantly and knows a remarkable amount of recipes.
